Thank You Mtubatuba for a Very Successful Clinic

Zululand sterilisation clinic: 59 cats over two days! Our intrepid mobile clinic Mathilda visited Mtubatuba this weekend, where Midmar vet Dr Lee Pachonick and her trusty helper, Di, sterilised 59 cats and fixed up quite a few little problems.

Mtuba Pre-Primary  kindly offered the school for the weekend for us to use as a clinic.

Thank you, Di and Lee, the ladies from Zululand and our wonderful sponsors National Sterilisation Project, Glenda Fawbert and Hluhluwe Paws and Claws!

This little sweetie (right) arrived covered in some greasy substance and Di decided, while the cat was under anaesthetic, to clean the little kitty so that she would not be spending her time in licking herself clean but rather have a glossy coat without any oil. That meant a good wash in a bucket and a blow dry so that she was fluffy and dry by the time she woke up.

Lee also fixed a nasty hang-nail on one cat and stitched up a hernia on another cat. Apart from these few things the cats were in good condition.

So big ups to the people of Mtuba for looking after their stray cats so well.
